Allergy and Asthma

Lasting Allergy Relief Symptoms

For long-lasting allergy and asthma relief, look no further. At Infinity Medical Clinic, we proudly provide exceptional care to patients suffering from short-term or chronic allergy and asthma conditions.

Whether you’re coughing, sneezing, or wheezing your way through the day, allergies and asthma can be difficult to manage. Our highly experienced staff provides advanced solutions and effective services. Treatment from Dr. Stemmerman can help you get started on a path toward relief.

Allergy Testing

Allergy testing pinpoints the source or sources of your allergic response. This helps us understand what substances trigger your symptoms and determine the most effective treatment plan for your allergies. This may include medications, immunotherapy, or other interventions.

Our skin test involves pricking your skin and placing a very small amount of liquid allergen on the surface of the skin and observing biological reactions. Patients can expect little to no pain during treatment.

Allergy testing in our office takes 15 to 20 minutes. Allergy medications should be stopped 5 to 7 days prior to testing.

Immunotherapy

Allergy shots, also known as immunotherapy, are one of the best treatment options available for your allergies and asthma. This is because allergy shots change the way your immune system reacts to the environment. Unlike medications that treat these symptoms, immunotherapy stimulates the immune system to counter this abnormal response.

By administering incremental doses of the allergen, allergic responses reduce over time and provide lasting relief. Our healthcare staff provides individualized treatment based on the severity of your allergies and how you react to allergy shots. This helps us create a timeline for administering doses that work best for you.

Choose Prevention Instead of Relying on Allergy Medication

EXPOSURE THERAPY

Based on the identified allergens, personalized allergen extracts are formulated for each patient. These extracts contain small, controlled amounts of the allergens responsible for triggering allergic responses.

DESENSITIZATION

As the allergen doses increase, the immune system gradually becomes desensitized to the specific allergens. Immunotherapy aims to shift the immune response from an allergic, hypersensitive reaction to a more tolerant and regulated state.

PREVENTION

Our allergy and asthma relief plans can lead to long-lasting effects even after the treatment is completed. Some individuals experience a significant reduction in allergy symptoms and improved quality of life.

Control Allergy Symptoms

Allergies can be seasonal or year-round, with hay fever being triggered by pollens and perennial rhinitis being triggered by indoor allergens. Symptoms include sneezing, and an itchy, runny, or blocked nose that can range from mild to severe depending on the person and their triggers. Accurate diagnosis is important because many people have a combination of both seasonal and year-round allergies.

Advantages of Allergy Shots

If you have severe allergy symptoms that interfere with your daily life, even after you’ve made changes to your immediate environment, allergy shots can provide significant symptom relief. Allergy shots have a list of other advantages that include:

  • Reduce your sensitivity
  • Work for a variety of allergies
  • Offer results for allergies that no longer respond to medication
  • Reduce your need for medication long-term
  • You no longer have to avoid your triggers
